DreamWorks Animation Special Exhibition
: From Sketch To Screen
Apr. 30. 2016 - Aug. 15.
The Seoul Museum of Art
The world's largest animation exhibition showcases the entire creative and creating processes behind internationally beloved characters like Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar, How to Train your Dragon, and more. About 400 pieces on display feature from concept drawings to storyboards, 3D character models, sheet music for film scores, and many more.
After having visited Australia, Singapore, and New Zealand, DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition - Journey from Sketch to Screen opens at The Seoul Museum of Arts (SEMA). The exhibition was put together through the collaboration with DreamWorks, one of the world's biggest animation houses, and the Australian Center for the Moving Image (ACMI) to showcase around 400 arts and objects that survey the whole animation production processes from concept drawing, storyboards, original pieces from the archive along with behind-the-scene interviews and models from the studio's most popular films.

The exhibition features the highlights from around 32 internationally beloved animation films including Shrek, Madagascar, Kung-pu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon while revealing the works from Kung-pu Panda 3 for the first time.

Divided into the three mainstays of an animated film - character, story, and world - the exhibit is designed to provide "a rare glimpse into the studio's collaborative and visionary approach to animation" and to offer an insightful look into the processes behind the on-screen magic.
