More than half a century after it establishment, Sanrio has introduced innumerous characters to the world until this day. In particular, will be held at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP) to commemorate this year 2024 of the 50th birthday of Helly Kitty, which is much loved around the world.

<Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Special Exhibition> consists of variety of contents that all generations and families can visit and enjoy together.

In addition to characters born in the 1970s such as Hello Kitty, My Melody and LittleTwinStars, along with concept art of various characters of Sanrio such as Kuromi, Cinnamoroll, Pompompurin, Pochacco, and Hangyodong, you may enjoy related video materials and various special photo zones produced under the theme of Sanrio characters, including vintage exhibits and animations by period that have been introduced over the past 50 years.
Not only as a character but something alive, Sanrio's characters have a temporal and spatial background that clearly explains each character's characteristics, living and breathing in their respective worlds. This exhibition covers the historical footsteps that Sanrio has taken over the past half century, and is designed to look into the vast world of the many characters that has been created based on its amazing imagination.

<Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary>
Hello Kitty a representative character of Sanrio, born in 1974 celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. It was named Hello Kitty starting with a small coin purse, and the history began. 50 years later, it became one of the most famous characters in the world, and it has been loved by parents and children regardless of generation. In the 50th Anniversary of Hello Kitty section, you can meet various productions of Hello Kitty keeping up with the time, from the first coin purse to representative retro TV, camera and telephone.

 
<Sanrio Characters>
Over the past 60 years, Sanrio has introduced more than 450 different characters to the public. The newly emerging Sanrio characters reflect the trend of the times and bring great laughter and happiness to Sanrio fans around the world whenever a new character is introduced. In addition, Sanrio is actively communicating with fans through the monthly ‘The Strawberry News’ and the annual event ‘Sanrio Character Ranking’.
